1. TAKE THE FERRY TO DUMBO

The ferry is a great mode of transportation on a summer day, and luckily for 8 Spruce residents, Pier 11 is only a 13-minute walk away and is a hub for several ferry lines. In just 4 minutes from Pier 11 is Dumbo where residents can eat at the Time Out Market or shop at the Dumbo Flea Market under the Manhattan bridge. If you want to explore farther, there are plenty of options.

2. GET DRINKS AT THE GARDEN BAR

The South Street Seaport is a great spot during the summer, especially if you’re looking for great places to grab a cocktail while sitting outside. Located only 6 minutes from 8 Spruce by foot, The Garden Bar is a great outdoor drinking option that is perfect for a nice cocktail and plenty of people watching. Placed right in the middle of Fulton Street, The Garden Bar has a great drink menu and, if you’re hungry, a food truck with delicious bites.

3. EAT AT GRAND BANKS

Summer is the season of boats, so why not dine on one? Only 18 minutes from 8 Spruce by subway, Grand Banks is the perfect place to celebrate warm weather with delicious drinks and seafood fare. Located on the deck of a historical fishing boat, Grand Banks is best known for their oysters and stunning views of the Hudson.

4. PICNIC AT THE BATTERY

Summer is a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, and one of the best ways to do that is by picnicking in a local park. 8 Spruce residents are lucky, because The Battery Park is only a 16-minute walk or 10-minute subway ride away.
